TELEPHONE BANKER

Pay Rate: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour / Based on Interview
Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday, 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM

POSITION SUMMARY

The Telephone Banker connects clients with banking solutions that support their financial goals. This position balances customer service with sales opportunities by understanding client needs, providing knowledgeable guidance, and recommending appropriate banking products and services. The role requires strong communication, active listening, problem-solving, and the ability to build trusted client relationships through a telephone-based environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build and deepen client relationships by identifying financial needs and recommending appropriate banking products, services, and solutions.
• Respond to customer inquiries and concerns while providing customized solutions based on individual needs.
• Sell and fulfill banking products, including checking and savings accounts, credit cards, Certificates of Deposit (CDs), Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs), and loans.
• Identify client needs that require licensed sales support and make appropriate referrals to business partners.
• Ask probing questions to understand clients’ financial goals and recommend solutions using clear, easy-to-understand language.
• Quote rates, terms, and programs for applicable banking products and services.
• Balance service requests with sales opportunities while maintaining a positive client experience.
• Manage risk during business, product, and service transactions by utilizing available tools and established procedures.
• Handle objections professionally and provide accurate information to support informed client decisions.
• Maintain strong knowledge of banking products, services, processes, and applicable requirements.
• Participate in ongoing coaching, training, and performance feedback.
• Adapt to changing processes, technology, and business needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma, GED, secondary school diploma, or equivalent.
• Strong commitment to providing an experience that improves clients’ financial lives.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and maintain flexibility with the assigned schedule, including weekends and holidays as required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport over the telephone.
• Ability to actively listen, understand client needs, explain options in plain language, and handle objections.
• Comfortable receiving ongoing coaching and performance feedback.
• Ability to adapt to changing processes and learn new technology.
• Intermediate-level computer proficiency.
• Self-motivated with strong organizational skills.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Banking or financial industry experience.
• Call center experience.
• Telephone sales experience.
