Pay Range: $26.44 to $32.63 per hour

Schedule: 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week), non-exempt

Hours and Location: 

Monday – Friday, 9:00AM – 5:00PM

Job Summary

The Direct Services Coordinator is responsible for the general administration and coordination of direct service programs and maintaining a welcoming and safe environment for visitors, staff, and people we serve. This role will connect referrals and general inquiries to the best direct service program for their individualized needs. The Direct Service Coordinator will also support data and file management, office operations, and resource development to support the overall mission of The Peer Company.

EVOLVE Peer Delivered Services offers various options for individuals seeking support with substance use disorder (SUD) recovery. Enrolled individuals work with certified Peer Support Specialists, who share similar lived experience with SUD challenges, to support individuals navigating their own recovery journey through developing a Person Directed Plan (PDP). 

Qualifications

Education:  High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree valued.

Pre-Hire Drug Screen:  As part of The Peer Company's commitment to fostering a safe, productive, and professional workplace, we require pre-hire drug screenings for all potential employees. The screening will be conducted in accordance with The Peer Company's drug screening policy and applicable state and federal laws.

Motor Vehicle Records Search:  For positions that require driving, The Peer Company conducts a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) search in accordance with company policy, insurance requirements, and applicable state and federal laws. 

To be eligible for a driving-required position, candidates must meet the following minimum driving standards: 

• No major driving violations within the past 3 years (i.e. - DUII, careless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, etc.) 
• No more than 3 moving violations within the past 3 years (i.e. - speeding, failing to yield, running red light, etc.) 

Experience: 

• Associate’s degree and 1-2 years of relevant work experience OR a high school diploma and 3-4 years of relevant work experience
• Must have lived experience in recovery with substance use disorder (SUD). Has at least 24 months of continuous, sustained recovery with SUD before employment. Lived experience with mental health challenges and recovery is desirable and highly valued
• Understands the principles of trauma-informed care, recovery, consumer-involvement

Maintaining Continuous Recovery:

Employees serving in recovery-focused roles who have lived experience with substance use disorder (SUD) must maintain continuous recovery and remain abstinent by not engaging in substance or alcohol use (illegal, legal, and recreational) during their employment with TPC.

Licensure/Certification:  

• Peer Wellness Specialist (OHA Traditional Health Worker certification) or MHACBO CRM certification required or able to be obtained within 90 days of hire
• Valid Oregon Driver’s License and proof of automobile insurance required. Access to reliable personal vehicle required

Skills:

• Network and collaborate with diverse groups of people who have varied skills, knowledge, and goals
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Manage multiple high-priority task professionally while meeting deadlines
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
• Typing and general technology skills to navigate electronic systems easily and efficiently (e.g., email, Microsoft Office, data systems, etc.) 
• This position is regularly required to push/pull/lift/carry items up to 25 pounds, and occasionally push/pull/lift/carry up to 50 pounds 

Essential Functions  

• Receive general inquiries about direct service programs 
• Receive and respond to referrals. Assign referrals to appropriate programs. 
• Manage the peer community center calendar
• Support groups and events that happen in the peer community space
• Greet and assist visitors and staff with their inquiries, connecting them to the correct person for troubleshooting
• Track and record visitor data through check-in and check-out forms 
• Maintain a warm, clean, and welcoming environment for visitors and staff
• Provide ad hoc 1on1 peer support when needed
• Identify and engage with referral providers. Coordinate information sessions and educate referral providers about direct service programs
• Cultivate relationships with community partners and referral providers to stay current on emergent and existing direct service resources 
• Create and manage resource libraries and other documents to support direct service staff 
• Stay updated on events and news in the broader peer support community
• Serve as primary point of contact for general phone calls, faxes, and outgoing mail
• Organize and manage donations and upkeep of The Peer Company’s Clothing Closet and other similar initiatives 
• Travel by car as needed to perform coordinator duties and attend relevant meetings in the community 
• Other duties as assigned
