Full Charge Bookkeeper Job – Harrisburg, PA
A growing property management and real estate company in Harrisburg, PA is seeking a Full Charge Bookkeeper with direct industry experience to take ownership of day-to-day accounting operations.
This role is ideal for someone who has worked within property management or real estate accounting and understands the nuances of rental income, tenant balances, and property-related financials. The company is looking for a long-term hire who can clean up and streamline current accounting workflows.
The Full Charge Bookkeeper will manage the full-cycle accounting process, ensuring accurate financial records, organized systems, and timely reporting. This individual will work independently while collaborating with the property management team in Harrisburg, PA.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable (no collections required)
- Track rental income, tenant payments, and security deposits
- Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
- Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks
- Clean up and improve accounting systems and workflows
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Track property-related expenses (maintenance, capital improvements)
- Collaborate with property management team on rent rolls and tenant balances
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow tracking
- Prepare documentation for external accountants/CPAs
Qualifications
- 5+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience REQUIRED
- MUST have experience in property management, real estate, or rental property accounting
- Strong QuickBooks experience (required)
- Strong Excel skills
- High attention to detail and organization
- Ability to work independently in a small business environment
- Degree in Accounting/Finance (preferred)
