Systems Administrator

Description

SAIC has an opportunity for Systems Administrator in Huntsville, AL at the S3I Complex on Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Monitor systems performance and maintain operations

• Control access to systems

• Manage and maintain backups for systems

• Update, configure, build and maintain systems and support infrastructure

• Image and prepare hardware for new employees

• Record, troubleshoot and solve issues identified by users

• Work independently and with other engineers on requirements development, system architecture and system design

• Remediate cybersecurity findings and ensure compliance

• Other duties, as assigned by the Systems Admin Lead

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

• A bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field and five (5) years’ information systems engineering and design experience is required. Additional six (6) years’ experience can be considered in lieu of a degree (per contract vehicle)

Clearance Requirements:

• Must possess an active Secret security clearance; US Citizenship required

Required Skills and Certifications:

• Must have Security+ CE or CISSP Certification AND Operating System Certification (Windows 11) to meet DoD 8570 requirement

• Experience with administration of Microsoft Operating Systems (Windows 11, Windows Server 2019/2025)

• Understanding of modern TCP/IP networking fundamentals for local area networks

• Experience with patching and deploying software products and updates using Microsoft Windows Server Update Services (WSUS)

• Experience with STIG processes/procedures

Preferred (not critical) Skills and Certifications:

• Understanding of Information Assurance (IA) systems: Endpoint Security as a Service (ESS), Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Nessus

• Experience with Virtual Machines and hardware virtualization technology (VMWare, Hyper-V)

• Experience with Multifactor Authentication and PKI

• Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy

• Experience with image building and deployment
