How you will make an impact:

The Machinist III will assist in the training of team members on the setup and programming of various machining equipment. This role will also be responsible for cutting material to size, using conventional, CNC, and ProtoTrac lathes and mills to machine parts to print specifications. Write and run programs for CNC and ProtoTrac lathe and mill. Design and machine custom Jig fixtures for holding parts. Verify finished dimensions with calipers and gauge pins.

Responsibilities include:

• Read and understand engineering prints in order to accurately machine parts from prints.
• Use Bandsaw to cut material to size for machining, ensuring precision and adherence to specifications.
• Utilize conventional Lathe and Mill to machine parts.
• Operate CNC Lathe and Mill proficiently to machine parts.
• Operate ProtoTrac Lathe and Mill proficiently.
• Proficient in writing complex programs for the CNC Lathe and Mill including 5 Axis.
• Proficient in programming the ProtoTrac Lathe and Mill.
• Assist in training other machinists on the setup and programming of mills and lathes.
• Responsible for setting up and operating the EDM.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area, including proper storage and maintenance of tools, equipment, and materials.
• Work closely with Engineering and other shop employees.

The skills and experience you'll need:

• A minimum of 7+ years of experience in a similar role is required.
• Experience reading engineering prints
• Prior experience using and reading tape measure and calipers.
• Proficient in machining parts using a conventional Mill and Lathe.
• Proven experience programming and machining parts using a CNC Mill and Lathe.
• Skilled in programming and machining parts using a ProtoTrac Mill and Lathe.
• Accomplished in the design and machining of Jig Fixtures for holding parts.
• Must have strong English Language written and verbal communication skills.

US BASE PAY SCALE $29.96 - $37.88/hr

The base pay scale for this role is what Meissner reasonably expects to pay for the position although actual pay may vary from this scale depending on an applicant's experience.
