Since 1992, BAI has provided comprehensive, innovative and effective solutions to our clients’ transportation, stormwater, and infrastructure needs.BAI is actively seeking a Project Manager for the Water Resources and Environment Division in our Columbia, MD office.Job Summary:The project manager will be responsible for the management, staff supervision, and technical engineering for various engineering design projects. Project managers will maintain proficient technical engineering skills while also being capable of preparing project scope and fee proposals, technical writing, project billing, and assistance with marketing and business development capacities. The project manager will work directly with senior staff, department directors, managers, and marketing personnel.Responsibilities:Responsibilities include engineer of record for project development plans, specifications and estimates for task assignments. The project manager will oversee all design activity from project engineers, design engineers, and CADD technicians, as well as, coordinate design with other engineering and sciences disciplines. Project managers are expected to maintain technical design knowledge and expand capabilities through attendance or membership with various engineering committees or organizations.The project manager will also be responsible for project billing, budget management, scheduling, preparing scope and task proposals, technical writing, man-hour estimates, man-power projections, and client and sub-consultant management. Project managers will require excellent verbal and written communication skills to report project status to senior staff and attend meetings with clients and sub-consultants.Knowledge, Skills, and Minimum Requirements:BS in Civil, Water Resources, Biological Resources, or Agricultural Engineering or related disciplineMinimum of twelve (12) years’ experience in Water Resources and Environment Engineering with at least two (2) of those as a project managerRegistered Professional Engineer in Maryland (or ability to apply for reciprocity)Experience working on Water Resources and Environment projects for federal, state, county, city, or local municipalitiesPrior modeling (e.g., Hec-RAS, TR-20, TR-55, HY-8) and design (e.g., drainage, stormwater, erosion and sediment control, coastal, stream restoration) experience in Water Resources and Environment with a functional understanding of other disciplinesWorking knowledge of regional marketing and business development activitiesAbility to manage staff, review and track project billings, and general office operationsProficient using Microstation and associated design software with strong computer skillsExcellent technical writing, verbal communication, and presentation skillsKnowledge and technical experience applying engineering design principlesAbility to work well within a project team by building relationships and teamworkHigh-level of integrity, ethics, quality service, and safetyMaintain a positive rapport with supervisors and employeesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
