CNC Mill & Lathe Operator – Entry-Level Job Description General Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machines (mills or lathes) to perform tasks such as drilling, milling, turning, and grinding.
- Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and job specifications.
- Load raw materials and parts onto machines.
- Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as needed.
- Inspect finished products using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
- Basic understanding of CNC machinery and tooling.
- Ability to read mechanical documents and drawings.
- Familiarity with precision measurement tools.
- Mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently or in a team.
- High School Diploma or GED .
- 6 months to 1 years prior CNC experience required .
- Completion of a certificate or diploma in machining or engineering is a plus
