Job Title: Emergency Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years required, but will consider 1 year with strong skills/experience in the emergency room. License: Active RN state license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH, CPI Must-Have: Strong skill and experience in emergency room settings Description: The Emergency Room Registered Nurse will work in a fast-paced environment. The average daily census is 130 patients. The unit has a total of 47 beds. The patient population includes all age ranges, from infant to geriatric. The emergency department experiences various diagnoses, including complex medical conditions. Every other weekend is required along with holiday shifts as scheduled. Floating within the specialty is necessary. The nursing staff will maintain a patient ratio of 1:4. Candidates must be comfortable handling diverse patient scenarios, including emergency situations. Experience in managing ventilated patients, starting and maintaining IVs, and performing triage is essential. The registered nurse will also be involved in the administration of emergency medications and care of patients with multi-system organ dysfunction. The ability to manage behavioral health conditions and respond to trauma cases is important. The emergency department supports interdisciplinary collaboration with physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Special equipment, such as ultrasound and transvenous pacemaker, will be utilized in patient care. Candidates should have charting experience, preferably with specific systems. Applicants must possess CPI certification. Compliance with onboarding protocols and documentation deadlines is crucial. This position requires flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic health care environment.
