Training Specialist

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an IT Training Specialist for a contract-to-hire opportunity with a large healthcare organization in Los Angeles. This position will develop and deliver training for newly implemented technology and clinical applications. The ideal candidate has experience conducting both virtual and in-person training in a healthcare environment and is proficient with Cerner's ambulatory and inpatient applications.

The IT Training Specialist will support new-employee education, application implementations, post-go-live stabilization, system optimization, and remedial training. This person must be an effective presenter who can communicate clearly with clinical end users, business partners, and project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Deliver virtual and in-person training for clinical and business applications.
  
• Conduct classroom, computer-lab, webinar, conference-room, and self-paced training.
  
• Develop training programs for new applications, systems, and hardware.
  
• Create participant guides, job aids, quick-reference guides, eLearning content, and short video tutorials.
  
• Present information using lectures, demonstrations, group discussions, exercises, videos, and other instructional methods.
  
• Train new employees and provide post-implementation, optimization, stabilization, and remediation training.
  
• Assess training needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and consultation with managers and end users.
  
• Schedule classes according to instructor, classroom, and equipment availability.
  
• Monitor training activities and evaluate program effectiveness.
  
• Review and improve instructional materials prepared by departmental trainers.
  
• Collaborate with clinical, technical, and business stakeholders to understand application workflows.
  
• Support small project-management initiatives.
  
• Assist with the investigation of intermittent technical issues.
  
• Remain current on relevant technologies, applications, and training practices.
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, education, healthcare, instructional design, or a related field.
  
• At least two to three years of virtual and in-person IT training experience within a healthcare setting.
  
• Demonstrated competency with both ambulatory and inpatient Cerner clinical applications.
  
• Ability to understand and explain clinical and business application workflows.
  
• Hands-on experience developing training materials such as participant guides, job aids, quick-reference guides, and video tutorials.
  
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio.
  
• Strong presentation, facilitation, written communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  
• Ability to work onsite in Los Angeles approximately 70% of the time.
  
• Ability to attend an onsite final interview.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience training users on ServiceNow, Kronos, Lawson, or similar enterprise applications.
  
• Experience writing eLearning scripts and developing self-paced training.
  
• Experience using SnagIt.
  
• Experience supporting major implementations, go-lives, stabilization efforts, or optimization projects.
  
• Experience working in a large, fast-moving project environment.
  

Additional Information

This position is contract-to-hire. Candidates must be able to satisfy the healthcare organization's pre-employment and onboarding requirements before starting.

Pay Details: $42.79 to $47.08 per hour
