COA seeks a Director for the AS/COA Miami office. The Director will set and execute the strategic vision for Miami-based programming and institutional engagement, ensuring high-level programs that deepen member value, strengthen COA’s footprint, and elevate the organization’s leadership in Miami and across the Americas. This role requires a dynamic leader capable of driving content strategy, developing small- and large-scale business events, and cultivating external partnerships while serving as a senior representative of the institution in Miami. Key Responsibilities The director’s key responsibilities are focused on the following areas: Set and lead the strategic vision for high-level policy and business programming in Miami, aligning local initiatives with institutional priorities and member interests across the Americas. Conceptualize, design, and execute flagship events, private roundtables, and public programs that engage C-level executives, senior government officials, and thought leaders. Identify and confirm top-level speakers and moderators for programs led by COA Miami, organized in the Miami and throughout Latin America. Serve as a senior representative of AS/COA in Miami, hosting programs and cultivating high-level relationships with corporate leaders, policymakers, and strategic partners. Develop and deepen relationships with COA members, PR agencies, government institutions, and regional stakeholders to expand COA’s influence and programming pipeline. Support revenue-generating efforts for the Miami office, including business development ideas, corporate member engagement, renewals, and new member acquisition. Oversee the development of strategic communications and marketing materials for Miami-led initiatives, including invitations, nomination outreach, event pages, sales decks, digital campaigns, and social media. Supervise and guide staff as applicable, fostering a collaborative, high-performance team environment. Skills and Qualifications 12-15 years of relevant experience with demonstrated success in strategic program development, senior-level engagement, and corporate communications, public affairs or client management. Proven experience engaging C-suite executives and government officials across the Americas. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; strong Spanish required. Portuguese proficiency is a plus. A strong understanding of the Latin American business and policy landscape. Experience working with multinational and multilatina companies and/or major regional events is a plus. Experience in managing client relations or consulting experience with multinational or multilatina companies with significant business interests in Latin America. Degree in business, international relations, communications, public relations, journalism, or related field. Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to support both the content and business development sides of the organization. Strong strategic thinking and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-focused environment. Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally. AS/COA employees work on a hybrid schedule, with three days of the week spent in the office and two days remotely. Employees may be required to work onsite more than three days per week when programming demands.
