The TL;DR Role: Early Career Type: Permanent, Full Time Location: Hybrid – Sacramento County, CA (Rancho Cordova) Pay: $4,442.00 – $5,296.00 monthly (New State hires begin at the minimum of the classification or alternate range when applicable) Team: Reports to the Senior Accounting Officer (Supervisor) Mission: Perform entry-level professional accounting to support claims processing and benefit payment control activities, safeguarding the Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund. What You’ll Actually Do Perform: Execute entry-level professional program accounting work supporting Claims Processing and Benefit Payment Control activities, including fraud prevention and detection. Manage: Establish overpayments and maintain accurate employer and claimant accounts, ensuring the financial integrity of the Unemployment Insurance (UI) Trust Fund. Assist: Provide essential assistance to both employers and claimants regarding their accounts and related processes. Determine: Conduct routine monetary eligibility determinations and adjustments as they relate to various workload processes within UI and Disability Insurance (DI) programs. Analyze: Utilize a variety of databases and information from Federal, State, and Departmental sources to inform and determine appropriate actions for UI and DI programs. The Must-Haves Background: Possess an accounting education that prepares you for entry-level professional program accounting work. Experience: Demonstrated ability to apply your accounting education and any relevant experience to practical accounting tasks within a professional environment.
