About the Role

The Company is in need of a VP/Controller to act as a senior finance leader and key financial architect. The successful candidate will be responsible for all financial reporting, forecasting, and controls, with a strong focus on SOX compliance, audit-ready accounting, and US GAAP guidance, particularly in the area of fair value loan and debt accounting. This role involves overseeing the full accounting function, including A/P, A/R, month-end close, and the loan funding process. The VP/Controller will also lead automation initiatives, own the financial systems roadmap, and be involved in both SEC and internal management reporting, as well as annual budgeting in partnership with the strategy and analytics team. Applicants for the VP/Controller position at the company should be CPAs with a minimum of 8 years' accounting leadership experience in financial services. Strong SEC and SOX credentials are essential, and a background in lending, real estate, or mortgage finance is highly preferred. The ideal candidate will have a builder's disposition, with a focus on scaling infrastructure, developing talent, and thinking like an operator. The role is suited to senior finance leaders who excel in high-growth, fast-paced environments and are adept at contributing to investor materials. The company is seeking a candidate who can start in a late-June timeframe and is prepared for a streamlined, three-round interview process.
