Clinical Instructor of Obstetrics and Gynecology (Practitioner)

Under the guidance of the gynecologic oncology faculty and in accordance with standardized procedures, the Nurse Practitioner shall perform histories and physical examinations, treat common episodic and chronic health conditions, counsel patients and families, monitor patient progress, and assist with medical research projects within the scope of gynecologic oncology. The practitioner will see new patients with gynecologic oncology faculty and conduct surveillance visits independently, assess patients receiving chemotherapy, and manage chemotherapy patients in the infusion center with complications. The practitioner will evaluate patients entering the Emergency Treatment Center, respond to phone calls, communicate results, and collaborate with the healthcare team for consultations and referrals. The practitioner retains responsibility for ongoing clinical management while serving as a resource to nurses and ancillary staff at other divisional practice sites. Other duties may be assigned. Education Master’s Degree – Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing (MSN). Experience 3 years of clinical work experience as a Nurse Practitioner in Women’s Health or Oncology. Licensure and Certifications Current State of California license as a Registered Nurse (RN) Current Nurse Practitioner license from CA Board of Registered Nursing Nurse Practitioner Furnisher (CA DCA) – Current furnishing license to provide medications in California DEA Certificate issued by the U.S. Department of Justice for Schedule II-V controlled substances National Board Certification in Nurse Practitioner specialty accredited by ABSNC or NCCA Chemotherapy Administration Certification (preferred) Certification from ANCC or AACN as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (upon hire) Current BLS Certification – Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) – must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal The salary range for this position is $170,000-185,000.
