Associate Asset Management

Overview Ryan Companies US, Inc. has an immediate career opportunity for an Associate of Asset Management in a hybrid role at our downtown Chicago office. This key position is responsible for the creation, oversight, and implementation of strategic business plans and programs for multifamily, senior living, and active adult properties. The role blends oversight of operations, marketing and sales with hands‑on financial planning and execution, focusing on increasing property value and delivering exceptional resident experiences. Responsibilities Review monthly property reports and cash flow forecasts; follow up with property accountancy and operating partners on variances. Perform property benchmarking analysis relative to Ryan communities and industry benchmarks. Prepare reports on individual community performance, problems, workout strategies, construction and leasing status. Assist with the preparation of investment partner presentation reports and memorandums. Conduct annual site inspections to assess property condition and recommend improvements. Prepare financial assessments and recommend overall strategy. Create cash flow forecast models at building and portfolio level. Assist research on competitive market and demographic trends. Maintain project database with key indicators and performance details. Assist preparation of annual business plans and review of operating and capital budgets. Research and present strategic cost‑cutting initiatives and operational efficiencies. Maintain knowledge of industry trends and comparable property performance. Collaborate with in‑house departments (accounting, investments/acquisitions, capital markets, legal) for a team‑oriented approach. Present information effectively to internal and external partners. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, real estate or a related field. 4‑7 years of experience as an asset management professional in real estate or the housing sector. Knowledge of financial statements, forecasting and modeling, property management issues, loan agreements, policies and procedures. Familiarity with real estate and senior housing aspects such as LLC agreements, partnership agreements, property taxes, management agreements, financing structures and valuation analysis. Compensation Annual base pay $120,000–$150,100, depending on location and candidate qualifications. Potential additional compensation through commission and/or incentive programs.
