Position Overview
rPlus Energies is seeking a Development Associate to support the advancement of utility-scale renewable energy and energy storage projects. Working closely with Development Managers, this role will assist with permitting, land coordination, project due diligence, stakeholder engagement, and project tracking throughout the development process. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and interested in building a career in renewable energy project development. Strong preference will be given to candidates based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Exceptional remote candidates may be considered. Travel to project sites and stakeholder meetings will be required (up to 30-50%).


General Responsibilities

• Support Development Managers in advancing renewable energy and energy storage projects through the development lifecycle.
• Assist with site control activities, including landowner coordination, title review, and title curative efforts.
• Coordinate project development deliverables, including permit applications, interconnection requests, environmental studies, and RFP submissions.
• Assist with the preparation and submission of local, state, and federal permits and supporting documentation.
• Support environmental, technical, and land due diligence efforts by coordinating consultants and third-party vendors.
• Track project schedules, milestones, budgets, and key deliverables.
• Participate in landowner, agency, utility, and community outreach efforts.
• Support evaluation of new project opportunities and acquisition prospects.
• Maintain project records, data rooms, and document management systems.
• Coordinate with internal teams, including engineering, legal, finance, and construction, to support project advancement.
• Prepare project summaries, presentations, and internal reports.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Development team.

Skill Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Environmental Studies, Energy Management, Engineering, Real Estate, Land Management, Planning, or a related field.
• 2-3 years of experience in renewable energy development, project development, real estate, land services, permitting, or a related field.
• Renewable energy experience preferred.
• Familiarity with permitting, land acquisition, environmental review, or project development processes.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Experience with document management systems and data rooms preferred (Box)
• GIS experience is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
