We're partnering with the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) to find a dedicated Program Coordinator  to support the Center for Professional Boards and Licensing, working closely with the Chief of Program Development to implement healthcare professional licensure compacts as part of the Rural Health Transformation Program.

The ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with a proven ability to support senior state leadership, manage complex administrative projects, and deliver exceptional customer service to the public and internal staff.

Pay & Job Highlights
Pay Rate: $30.66 per hour
Location: Providence, RI

Responsibilities of the Program Coordinator:

• Support the implementation of healthcare professional licensure compacts by anticipating changes to impacted licenses and updating applications, checklists, and related materials.
• Initiate, prepare, and distribute correspondence, official forms, and documents to implement the Chief's decisions and actions.
• Train staff on questions they may receive from the public, screen inquiries regarding agency policies and programs, respond on behalf of the Chief whenever possible, and escalate issues when necessary.
• Oversee official agency files and records to ensure accuracy and currency, and gather information used as the basis for important administrative decisions.
• Contact officials and personnel to obtain information and recommendations on specific problems or policies, attend conferences and meetings, and prepare reports on the outcomes.

Qualifications of the Program Coordinator:

• Successful completion of at least two years of academic study at an accredited institution of higher education, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
• Considerable experience in state government assisting a high-level official with administrative tasks involved in implementing major projects and programs affecting multiple departments or agencies.
• Working knowledge of public administration principles and practices, modern office management, and effective implementation of policies and procedures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare accurate, concise reports and maintain effective working relationships with staff.
