job summary:
Seeking a skilled instrumentation technician to join our clients tuscaloosa manufacturing team and help drive their automation and reliability efforts. in this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting complex systems using plc programs and schematics, calibrating industrial instruments, and performing essential electrical repairs to keep the facility running safely and efficiently. we are seeking candidates with an associate degree or equivalent technical training and at least two years of hands-on experience who are comfortable using shop equipment and working a flexible schedule. responsibilities:

• find and gather necessary electrical parts and equipment for various repair projects

• use specialized hand tools and meters to measure voltage and amperage

• fix and maintain electrical equipment following specific safety and maintenance procedures

• analyze control schematics and programmable logic controller programs to solve technical issues

• choose, set up, and calibrate different industrial instruments and devices

• install conduit and pull electrical wiring through systems as needed

• use shop machinery like welders, grinders, and drill presses to complete tasks

• check equipment to ensure it is running safely and at peak efficience

• teach operators how to use new systems and keep safety documentation updated

• work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and extra shifts when necessary
