Game Worker Position

The Game Worker position at Drexel Hill Middle School is a seasonal role supporting various activities during athletic contests. This includes assisting administrators, coaches, and officials in multiple capacities before, during, and after events, such as gate fee collection, sideline management, game clock operation, crowd control, entry and exit assistance, scorebook, identification variation announcing, and meet manager event coordination.

Responsibilities

• Take gate fees for entry into the contest/event.
• Verification of adult and student Identification
• Ensure student workers and volunteers are on task and timely.
• Operate the running clock at the referee's or game official's direction.
• Meet referees before the game to provide escort at the end of each half/quarter.
• Notify custodians of any reported or observed hazards, safety, and sanitary concerns in the contest area.
• Notify the administrator on duty about inappropriate behavior among spectators and athletes.
• Perform other duties as assigned by an administrator.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of state-mandated clearances and background checks.
• Ability to effectively communicate with students and members of the community.
• Ability to operate a two-way radio.
• Ability to collect gate fees and secure cash and cash box.

Compensation

Varies depending on game or event: $30-$90 per game/event.
