The Role: Legal Counsel As a key member of our growing legal team, you will be at the center of our US expansion. You'll partner directly with our GC, CEO, and CTO to ensure compliance, mitigate risk, and accelerate our commercial engine. What you'll own:- Commercial Powerhouse: Draft, review, and negotiate high-stakes B2B SaaS contracts with some of the world's largest law firms (e.g., DLA Piper) and tech enterprises.
- AI & Product Guardrails: Provide business-oriented legal guidance to our AI researchers and engineers to help shape the product roadmap safely and innovatively.
- Global Compliance: Navigate privacy (GDPR/CCPA), security reviews, and regulatory landscapes across multiple jurisdictions.
- Scalable Infrastructure: Help build the policies and processes that allow a high-growth startup to scale from 600 teams to thousands.
- Problem Solving: Develop creative solutions for novel legal issues arising from generative AI.
- Traction: 20-30% MoM revenue growth; currently serving 600+ IP teams across the US, Europe, and Asia.
- Impact: Our AI-powered platform helps with invention harvesting and patent generation, delivering 50-90% efficiency gains.
- Backing: Recently featured in Sifted following our $40M Series B announcement, bringing our total funding to $55M from elite investors including Y Combinator, 20VC, Visionaries and others .
- Justin (General Counsel): Chemical Engineer and Georgetown Law JD, ex-Quarles.
- Sanj (CRO): PhD in AI (Gatsby Unit, UCL), ex-Huawei R&D, former lead at Magic Carpet AI (acquired).
- Chris (CEO): PhD in AI (UCL), published researcher, ex-Dyson and Alan Turing Institute.
- Angus (CTO): MEng Computer Science, ex-Qualcomm and Coremont (Brevan Howard).

- Independent & Confident: You are comfortable making decisions across time zones and working autonomously.
- AI-Curious: You are fascinated by the intersection of technology, law, and intellectual property.

- JD & Bar Admission: J.D. from an accredited school and qualified to practice in New York.
- Experience: 5+ years at a top-tier law firm and/or high-growth in-house environment.
- SaaS Expertise: Proven track record negotiating complex B2B SaaS agreements.
- Communication: Exceptional writing skills and the ability to simplify complex legal concepts for non-lawyers.
- Experience with AI regulation and product counseling.
- Background in IT security, data privacy, or corporate law.
- USPTO Admission: Admitted to practice before the USPTO.
