Job Title: Payroll & Benefits Coordinator

Location: Brea, CA (On-site)

Position Type: Contract (6-Month Initial Term)

Schedule: 30–40 Hours/Week (Flexible schedule; core on-site days such as 2 full days/week, with later start times or staggered coverage like 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, or 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM to assist workers across all 3 production shifts)

Pay Rate: $25.00 – $32.00 / hour (DOE)

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented, adaptable Bilingual Payroll & Benefits Coordinator to support operations at our soap manufacturing facility in Brea, CA. This position focuses on preparing payroll data, auditing timecards, supporting HRIS administrative needs (ADP or UKG), and acting as an accessible, bilingual resource for employees across all 3 production shifts.

The schedule offers high flexibility within 30 to 40 hours per week (e.g., anchoring 2 core days on-site with flexible or later start times). The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced plant environment, handles confidential data with strict discretion, and quickly adapts to updated Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Key Responsibilities

Payroll & Timecard Data Preparation

• Collect, prepare, and reconcile raw payroll data to ensure seamless, error-free processing.
• Review and audit daily timecards, shift differentials, overtime, and meal/rest break compliance for manufacturing personnel across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts.
• Process wage garnishments, pay adjustments, and tax withholding documentation in compliance with California labor laws.
• Handle confidential employee compensation, payroll records, and sensitive benefit files with strict discretion.

HRIS & Systems Support

• Step in to provide operational and administrative support across HRIS platforms (ADP or UKG).
• Maintain accurate employee records, including new hires, job transitions, pay rate updates, and terminations.
• Leverage advanced Microsoft Excel functions and keyboard shortcuts for high-speed, accurate data manipulation and auditing.

Plant Floor Coverage & Employee Support

• Maintain flexible shift scheduling (working 30–40 hours/week, including 2 anchor days with optional later start times like 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM) to ensure availability for workers across all 3 production shifts.
• Serve as a bilingual (English/Spanish) point of contact to address employee inquiries regarding timecards, pay accuracy, and benefits.
• Adapt smoothly to evolving operational workflows, process improvements, and changing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: 2+ years of hands-on payroll data preparation, timecard auditing, and HR support, ideally within a manufacturing, distribution, or warehouse environment.
• Language Skills: Bilingual English/Spanish required (spoken and written) to assist hourly plant staff effectively.
• Systems Experience: Experience with ADP or UKG for timekeeping and payroll data entry (UKG preferred, but not required).
• Technical Aptitude: Strong Microsoft Excel skills (data preparation, formulas, VLOOKUPs) paired with high speed using keyboard shortcuts.
• Schedule & Attributes: Ability to work 30–40 flexible hours per week (including coverage tailored to 3 shifts); high integrity handling confidential data; adaptable to changing SOPs.
