Sales Account Executive — SLED & Higher Education Cybersecurity & IT Infrastructure | Hybrid – McLean, VA | DMV Candidates Strongly Preferred Base $140K–$170K | OTE $220K–$280K+ | Quarterly Commission | Full Benefits

The Redda Group has been retained to identify a Sales Account Executive for a recognized cybersecurity and IT infrastructure solutions provider operating as a Diamond-tier partner with Palo Alto Networks and a strategic partner to Cisco, Splunk, Tenable, and Infoblox. The company serves state and local government agencies, K–12, and higher education institutions across the mid-Atlantic and nationally — and is expanding its SLED and university footprint.

The Role

This is a hunter position. You will own a named account territory, build net-new pipeline from the ground up, and run complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles to close. Your clients are CIOs, CISOs, IT directors, and procurement leaders at state agencies, municipalities, public universities, and community colleges. You'll engage them on solutions spanning Zero Trust architecture, network modernization, campus wireless, SASE, SD-WAN, and advanced cybersecurity platforms.

This is not a farming role. There is no warm book to inherit. You are expected to prospect aggressively, leverage contract vehicles and state procurement programs, and bring urgency to a territory that has room to grow significantly.

What You Bring

  • 5–7+ years of technology sales experience in a VAR, integrator, or IT solutions provider environment — this is a firm requirement, not a preference
  • A track record of selling into state & local government, higher education, or K–12 accounts, with fluency in how public sector procurement actually works (NASPO, OMNIA, state vehicles, RFPs, budget cycles)
  • Hands-on familiarity with at least one of the following platforms: Palo Alto Networks, Cisco, Splunk, Tenable, or Infoblox — you don't need to be a technical engineer, but you need to speak the language
  • Hunter DNA: demonstrated ability to build pipeline from scratch, manage a multi-touch pursuit, and close net-new logos
  • Comfort engaging senior stakeholders — you are not an order-taker; you bring perspective to the conversation
  • DMV-based or willing to operate in the region with in-person client presence
