Production Supervisor

OverviewThe Production Supervisor is responsible for hiring, training, communication of staffing and operational needs, and performance management of production and support personnel on 2nd shift. This position schedules and oversees production activity, usually through a group of lead operators, and is accountable for implementing process improvements, maintaining a safe and productive workforce, and supporting product quality. The Production Supervisor also coordinates cross-functionally with maintenance, quality, and engineering to support plant goals.This position is assigned to 2nd shift, with a regular schedule of Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Candidates must be available to work this shift.ResponsibilitiesEnsure and enforce plant safety regulations, regulatory controls, policies, and proceduresLead high-speed manufacturing activity and maintain a high level of equipment uptimeHire, develop, train, and monitor production, technical, and support personnelRun Tier meetings and Leader Standard Work, ensure action items are assigned, followed up, and closedManage timecards, payroll-related issues, attendance, formal problem solving, and the disciplinary process in accordance with Rain Bird policyDrive 5S, scrap reduction, quality root-cause corrective action, and Lean continuous improvement activitiesCoordinate cross-functionally with maintenance, quality, engineering, and other support departments to resolve production issuesMonitor productivity, reduce scrap and downtime, and support daily execution to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost goalsEnsure accurate and efficient communication between departments, shifts, and production personnelQualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:BS or BA degree in business or technical discipline3+ years’ manufacturing supervision experienceExperienced with 5S and Lean tools Excellent interpersonal and strong communication skillsEnthusiastic self-starter and excellent team playerDESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Graduate degree in business or technical discipline.Project Management experience in a seasonal businessHighly flexible and creative with the ability to succeed in a very dynamic environment.Experience with UKG and Oracle systems#LI-OnsiteRain Bird is an Equal Opportunity EmployerJob SummaryJob ID: 5541# Positions: 1Category: Manufacturing and Production - Supervision/ManagementCountry: United StatesCity: SteeleState: AL
