X-ray Technologist

Responsibilities Obtain quality x‑rays using correct positioning and radiation exposure. Implement safety procedures for patients, staff, and self to avoid unnecessary radiation exposure. Create and document x‑ray CD copies correctly according to Patient First guidelines and label images and sleeves appropriately. Understand and use the x‑ray and processing equipment properly. Use and understand the bell system. File and maintain all x‑ray paperwork. Ensure the safety of patients when using wheelchairs, stools, and other equipment. Use the following daily logs and screens: Daily Log, X‑Ray Listing, Copy Listing, and X‑Ray Status Screen. Use and understand the automated medical records system. Clean the work area and perform biological cleanup in accordance with OSHA guidelines and other maintenance assignments as directed. Receive, move, and restock ordered supplies. Adhere to established Patient First policies and procedures. Address physician and nurse requests with respect and in a timely manner. Complete tasks listed on the checklists for the x‑ray area and treatment area. Attend training classes and staff meetings as scheduled. Be available as needed; breaks and mealtimes may be interrupted at any time for patient care and to maintain center operations. Operate, use, and maintain medical and office equipment as trained. Qualifications At least 18 years of age. High school graduate or equivalent. Keyboarding experience required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. One year of clerical experience preferred. One year of clinical experience preferred. Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Licensed to practice as a radiographer by the Maryland Board of Physicians. Salary Range: $33.00 - $38.00, depending on experience.
