Overview
We are seeking skilled Line/Prep Cooks to join our Old Plank Tavern team. The candidate will have some background in food preparation and cooking. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality dishes while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and cleanliness. Working as a team with the front of house is a crucial part of your workday; you must be able to work well with others. You will also be able to deliver food and speak with customers at times as needed. We are a fun and easy going team! We hope you can join us.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards
- Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service demands
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace
- Adhere to food safety regulations and sanitation practices
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service
- Utilize knife skills for precise food preparation
- Participate in catering events as needed, ensuring quality service
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments
- Excellent food handling skills and understanding of food safety protocols
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen setting
- Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff
- Multi-talented - We pride ourselves on being able to work a variety of positions as need dictates in our small kitchen
- Previous experience in catering or large-scale meal preparation is advantageous
