Counselors will join a collaborative team of professionals passionate about advancing student success by promoting student wellbeing, removing psychological barriers, and cultivating personal strengths. Generalist positions require excellence in clinical service delivery including brief individual counseling, couples and/or group counseling, conducting intakes, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and psycho‑educational outreach. Counselors also provide clinical supervision to unlicensed clinicians. Some evening and weekend hours are required. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, Clinical Social Work or related field. Valid California license to practice as a mental health provider (e.g., LMFT, LCSW, Psychologist) or eligibility for licensure within 6 months of hire. Knowledge of California legal and ethical standards and ability to use sound ethical judgment during treatment, consultation, and crisis intervention. Ability to provide generalist psychological services to a diverse college student population. Experience Required Work in a university or college counseling center or similar mental health setting. Experience providing brief therapy using evidence‑based approaches. Experience addressing the needs of culturally diverse clients. Experience providing group counseling (process or psycho‑educational). Experience providing crisis intervention. Experience in case management and facilitating campus and community referrals. Experience developing and implementing outreach services such as consultations, trainings, workshops, and presentations. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required Strong communication skills, including oral presentation and written reporting. Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate across constituencies. Independent decision‑making, sound clinical judgment, multitasking, and priority setting. Willingness and availability to work evenings and weekends for outreach or crisis events. Preferred Qualifications Doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, Social Work, or related field. Professional experience or specialty in areas such as adjustment, acculturation, first‑generation student experiences, men’s mental health, eating disorders, or substance use recovery. Ability to utilize counseling techniques for students of varied backgrounds, cultures, identities, and orientations. Collaborate with campus partners serving first‑generation students and identity‑based organizations. Salary Student Services Professional‑Academic Related I‑12‑month salary range: $7,127 to $12,771 per month (12 monthly payments per year). Anticipated hiring range not to exceed $7,400 per month.
