Entry Level Staff Accountant

Our client is looking for an Entry Level (0-3 years) Staff Accountant to join the Accounting team. This role will have responsibilities that impact all aspects of our monthly financial close process. The ideal candidate should be eager to learn. This person should be very organized, and have excellent communication skills. The position will play an integral role in the output of the accounting team. This role will report to our Accounting Manager and is based in Gainesville, GA. The client is growing and will give you the opportunity to do the same.

What you'll do:

• Assist Accounting Manager on all month-end close processes including bank reconciliations, revenue recognition, expense allocations, accounts receivable, capitalized assets, and much more
• Assist in review of expense allocations, including bills the accounts payable clerk has input to ensure company policies are being followed
• Book monthly journal entries and prepare related account reconciliations including prepaid expenses and accruals
• Assist with external audit requests
• Partake in ad hoc team projects and analysis, as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelors or higher degree in Accounting or Finance
• In depth knowledge of Accounting theory and application of U.S. GAAP
• Excellent communication skills; proven ability to communicate effectively with internal and external business partners at various levels
• Proactive self-starter who enjoys a fast-paced environment and an ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet pressing deadlines
• Team player with a strong work ethic
• Exposure to Excel and Google Sheets
