Patient Service Specialist Location: Cherry Hill, NJ Schedule: Full-Time, Onsite (No Weekends!) Are you an experienced healthcare customer service professional who enjoys helping patients and keeping a busy medical office running smoothly? We are seeking a Patient Service Specialist to join a growing outpatient healthcare team in Cherry Hill, NJ. This role is ideal for someone with prior patient-facing healthcare experience, strong administrative skills, and a solid understanding of insurance processes, authorizations, and patient registration. What You'll Do Greet patients and create a welcoming, professional experience Register patients and collect necessary demographic and insurance information Schedule appointments both in person and over the phone Verify insurance eligibility, obtain authorizations, and manage payer approvals Collect co-pays and discuss patient financial responsibilities Prepare patient intake paperwork prior to appointments Communicate with insurance carriers, attorney offices, translation services, and other external partners Maintain accurate patient records and ensure quality standards are met Handle payments and reconcile transactions according to office procedures Assist with problem-solving and provide outstanding customer service Help maintain a clean, organized, and professional office environment What We're Looking For Required: Previous healthcare office, medical receptionist, patient services, or medical administrative experience Experience working with insurance verification, authorizations, and patient registration Strong customer service and communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Comfortable working in a fast-paced medical office environment Accurate data entry and typing skills (40+ WPM) Preferred: Knowledge of workers' compensation claims Experience with medical billing, collections, accounts receivable, or payment processing Familiarity with payer guidelines and insurance terminology Why You'll Love This Opportunity Stable, full-time schedule No weekends required Early afternoons on Tuesdays and Thursdays Collaborative team environment Opportunity to make a positive impact on patients every day Schedule (Must Be Able to Work As Listed) Monday: 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM Tuesday: 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM Thursday: 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM Friday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM One-hour lunch break on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Tuesday and Thursday shifts run straight through, allowing you to get out early. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cherry Hill, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
