Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical - Neuro

Job Details

This position involves providing care for patients in a Neuro Surgical and Medical unit. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for maintaining a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5-6, working either 36 or 48 hours per week on night shifts.

Contract Length

Contracts accepted for 13-26 weeks.

Scheduling and Requirements

Blocked scheduling may be accommodated based on current requests.
There are no requests for time off (RTO) accepted beyond 7 days.
The role requires floating to other units as necessary.
Weekend coverage includes 12-16 weekend shifts per contract, with flexibility to discuss specific needs.

Additional Responsibilities

All contract staff will participate in a Storm Team or Hurricane Team and may be required to report to work during catastrophic events or disasters.
Staff may be assigned to different units as needed throughout the contract period.

Patient Demographics

The primary patient diagnoses will involve neuro surgical procedures along with various neuro diagnoses.

Medication: Pyxis
Documentation: EPIC
Communication: SBAR

Orientation and Attire

Two orientation shifts on the unit following hospital-based orientation will be provided.
Scrubs are navy in color.

Qualifications

A minimum of 2 years of experience is required.
BCLS certification is mandatory.
NIH certification is preferred.
Neuro experience is preferred but not required.

Shift Details

This position requires working night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15.

Testing Requirements

Candidates must pass EKG testing prior to the start of this specialty role.
