Senior Manufacturing Operations Manager Position Overview

As the Senior Operations Manager, you will provide strategic and day-to-day leadership for manufacturing operations, partnering cross-functionally with planning, quality, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

Senior Manufacturing Operations Manager Responsibilities:

• Lead all aspects of daily manufacturing operations across multiple shifts
• Build, coach, and develop a growing team of supervisors and frontline leaders
• Drive operational performance in safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost control
• Partner cross-functionally with manufacturing engineering, quality, planning, design engineering, and other internal stakeholders to achieve operational goals
• Develop and execute operating plans aligned with production growth objectives
• Own departmental budgeting, spending management, and financial performance metrics
• Lead workforce planning, staffing strategies, overtime planning, and resource allocation
• Champion a strong safety culture through training, compliance, audits, and proactive risk reduction
• Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives to improve throughput, efficiency, workflow velocity, and lead times
• Identify and resolve production, quality, maintenance, and process challenges quickly and effectively
• Support new product introduction efforts and engineering change implementation
• Manage inventory performance and support inventory optimization initiatives
• Establish employee development, cross-training, succession planning, and leadership development programs
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and open communication

Senior Manufacturing Operations Manager Qualifications:

• 10+ years of progressive manufacturing operations leadership experience
• Demonstrated success leading teams in a manufacturing environment
• Strong background in complex manufacturing, final assembly, or highly engineered product environments
• Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, operational spending, and performance metrics
• Experience operating effectively in a matrixed organizational structure
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Business, or related field
• Lean Green Belt or Black Belt certification strongly preferred
• A strong people manager and team builder
• Comfortable leading change and driving continuous improvement
