Program Manager (Production) The Production Program Manager will work closely with customers and internal personnel and will manage and resolve technical and contractual problems on specific new projects of moderate scope. Typically works with the support of a mentor and refers to policies, procedures, and practices for guidance. Functions and Responsibilities Acts as primary customer contact. Establishes customer rapport to facilitate company objectives and customer satisfaction. Leads proposal development and negotiation for new business within established guidelines. Coordinates gathering and technical analysis of customer requirements. Provides general coordination, timelines, and objectives for Engineering, Production Control, Manufacturing, QA, and Support organizations. Participates in or develops mechanisms for establishing, monitoring, and integrating project elements, product configuration and communications concerning change management processes and decisions. Negotiates project changes and incorporates changes into project control systems to maintain work statements, cost and schedule baselines. Transitions projects to production and to the Marketing administrator. Performs project close‑out and documents lessons learned. Researches and identifies program forecasts, program and/or customer funding. Education, Skills, and Experience Education requirement: must have a technical bachelor’s degree in engineering or a degree in a similar technical field. Experience with military, defense, and/or government business client. Project Management experience (PMP Certification is nice to have). Experience working with multiple cross‑functional groups within a manufacturing environment. Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills required. Attention to details and accuracy are position critical. Qualifications and Experience Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through six or more years of increasingly responsible related experience. Certificate in Purchasing Management (CPM) or APICS desired. Thorough knowledge of purchasing and negotiating methods, principles and concepts. Knowledge of industry practices, general business operations, and policies. Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement. Ability to effectively assess and implement continuous improvement principles and techniques. Proficient with standard business application software and specialized purchasing and/or materials systems (e.g., electronic data interface (EDI) or manufacturing resource planning (MRP) systems). Ability to work on a variety of problems of diverse scope and complexity where analysis and evaluation of various outcomes require trade‑offs. Ability to solve a wide range of difficult problems in imaginative and practical ways and evaluate alternative solutions that may require coordination across multiple teams. Ability to establish goals and objectives to complete projects. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policies and recommend changes to procedures. Ability to effectively communicate and present information to suppliers, team members, team leaders, and top management. Ability to respond to significant inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to negotiate effectively to obtain best prices and terms on products, materials, and services. Ability to effectively demonstrate team‑member competencies and participate in goal‑setting, performance feedback, and self‑development activities. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit. The employee frequently is required to use hands to operate a computer and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Also expected of the employee is regular attendance, the ability to work cooperatively and professionally with others and members of the public, and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once. Overnight, long‑distance travel may be required based on the individual needs of the position. Drug Free Workplace In accordance with Parker’s policies and applicable state laws, Parker provides for a drug‑free workplace. Export Compliance This position is subject to meeting U.S. export compliance and/or U.S. Government contracting citizenship eligibility requirements. Competitive Compensation Pay Range: $104,400 to $174,150 annually. Participation in Annual Incentive Program. Benefits and Retirement Plans Comprehensive coverage for medical, prescription drugs, dental, vision, voluntary optional life, accident insurance, hospital indemnity insurance and critical illness insurance with competitive premium cost. 401(k) Plan with company matching contributions at 100% of the first 5% of pay. Company provided defined‑contribution retirement plan with annual contribution equal to 3% of pay. Career development and tuition reimbursement. Other benefits including paid parental leave, short and long‑term disability programs, adoption assistance, a Care.com membership and financial planning assistance are provided at no cost to you.
