JIB Accountant

The JIB Accountant is responsible for supporting the company’s joint interest billing accounting functions and ensures that expenditures are recorded within the framework of Talos Energy Inc.’s policies and procedures in compliance of applicable regulations. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare monthly JIB entries Process owner corrections Provide allocation schedules for the land department Perform monthly account reconciliations and analysis Prepare manual AR invoices Assist with owner inquiries and dispute resolution Assist in reviewing, coding, and processing outside operated invoices Prepare reports and analysis as needed Establish and maintain effective work relationships with internal staff and outside operators Assist Department with other daily/monthly tasks as needed EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE 0-3 years of experience in the accounting/finance or oil and gas industry Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance High school diploma QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS Eager to learn, self-motivated and detail-oriented Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Office, and Word Flexible with changing priorities Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment Strong analytical and communication skills Ability to work independently and within a team structure CERTIFICATES & LICENSES There are no certificates, licenses or registrations required for this position. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Employee must be able to sit for extended periods of time and have use of arms and hands in repetitive motion. A fair amount of standing and walking is also required for the position.
