Temporary Float RN

This job opening is for a Temporary Float RN position within the Central Staffing Resource Department (CSR) and services CVC PACU.

Wage: $55.00/hr. base rate Evening Shift Differential is $5.00 per hour Night Shift Differential is $3.00 per hour Weekend Differential is $5.00 per hour

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care to multiple surgical population (ICU, general care and OP). Maintain patient's airway, VS/I&O. Monitor EKG, arterial line, PA catheter, etc. Pain management (PCA and Epidural). Participate as a member of the collaborative health team. Provide patient/family education. Prepare unit for Pre-op patients (IV set-up review charts for H&P, consent, etc.). Provide direct care for Pre-op patients/PACU patients

Required Qualifications

• Current licensure to practice nursing in the state of Michigan.
• 2 years Adult PACU experience within the last 3 years
• Knowledge of multiple surgical procedures.
• ACLS Required
• Current AHA BLS Certification. Candidate will need to be able to provide proof of certification upon offer

• CPAN certified
• CAPA certified
• ACLS certified
• PALS certified
• Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
• BSN preferred
• Experience as a float RN
• Experience floating to multiple units

Work Schedule

*Commitment is 24 hours per 4 week scheduling block* Shift: Day/Evening rotator as needed; Hours: As needed by unit. Location: Cardiovascular Center- PACU

Expected to float to like units where competent and qualified

Inability to work for (3) months consecutively leads to automatic termination from employment

No guarantee of work at any time. Shifts can and sometimes will be cancelled.
