We are seeking a contract Paralegal with an emphasis on real estate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing and redlining real estate documents, managing title commitments and related due diligence materials, and assisting Counsel with research on real estate and project development matters. The position also drafts various intercompany real estate documents, facilitates document recording, and performs notarization duties. This role supports the Legal department in ongoing strategic initiatives and other assignments as needed. This role will be based out of our Chicago office and is subject to our Company’s return-to-office policy which currently requires a minimum of three days a week in the office. Key Responsibilities Detailedreviewand redlineofvariousdocumentsand legal instruments(with primary focus on real estate documents)to assist with project development, financing, and operations as needed. Reviewtitle commitments, coordinate with title company,draftlegal descriptions for documents to be recorded, and assistwithvarious matters of due diligence related to title workincluding (but not limited to)management of title commitments and policies, and archiving title commitments and policies. AssistCounsel in researching specific real estate issues,andoccasional research related to general project development. Assistwith and facilitate recordingmemoranda. Draft intercompany real estate assignments, amendments, terminations, extensions, exercise options, lletter s and memoranda. Notarization duties – should be a registered notary that can assist with in-person notarizationby officers and otherpersonnel as needed. Support the Legal department in strategic initiatives andvarious otherwork asmay be assigned. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, Business, or related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in real estate, legal support, or a similar role. Strong proficiency in reviewing, drafting, and redlining legal documents and real estate instruments. Working knowledge of title commitments, surveys, legal descriptions, and other real estate due-diligence materials. Excellent research skills with the ability to analyze real estate issues and summarize findings clearly. High attention to detail and strong organizational skills, especially when managing multiple documents and deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, outside counsel, and third-party vendors Ability to work independently while supporting a fast-paced legal or project-development environment.
