Project Accountant

Tarvos Talent is partnering with a growing real estate company in Central Houston to find a Construction Accountant to support the accounting and financial reporting functions for in-house construction activities. Key Responsibilities Prepare monthly construction draws and lender funding packages for active projects. Perform general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and job cost accounting functions. Analyze financial information and prepare journal entries for intercompany transactions, corporate cards, and other accounting activities. Assist with monthly financial reporting and management reporting packages. Review and process subcontractor billings, vendor invoices, and project-related expenses. Monitor retainage accounts and ensure proper lien waivers and releases are obtained. Support subcontractor onboarding, including W-9s, insurance certificates, and compliance documentation. Work closely with Project Managers to ensure change orders and project costs are properly recorded. What You Will Bring Bachelor's degree in Accounting. 2+ years of Construction Accounting experience. Strong understanding of job costing, contracts, and construction accounting processes. Experience with Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems. Experience with Procore, Textura, or similar construction software is a plus.
