Travel RN - Telemetry

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro Telemetry Stepdown position requiring NIHSS certification and prior travel experience.

Job Details

• Work in a busy stroke/neuro/trauma stepdown unit within a hospital setting,
• Patient population includes stroke, neurosurgery, trauma, and general med/surg and IMC/stepdown level of care,
• Typical patient assignment is 1:4, which may be higher when additional resources are available,
• Specialized procedures include lumbar drains, NIHSS assessments, and stroke education,
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM,
• Every other weekend required,
• Epic EMR experience required,

Job Requirements

• Active RN license (WI or Compact) currently in hand,
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS,
• Minimum 1 year of recent nursing experience required,
• Prior experience in Telemetry, Neuro Stepdown, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown settings required,
• Trauma Level II hospital experience required,
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted,
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration,

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to stroke, neurosurgery, and trauma patients in a fast-paced stepdown environment,
• Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and utilize rapid response/code teams as needed,
• Navy blue scrubs required,
• Must be clean-shaven to ensure proper mask seal for respirator fit testing; no medical or religious exemptions accepted, and CAPRs/PAPRs are not provided or permitted,
• Candidates living within 70 miles of the facility are considered local and will not be accepted,
• Clinicians may not work as a traveler for more than 1 year at this facility without taking a 6-month break before returning
