These recognitions highlight LVHN's commitment to teamwork, compassion, and technology with an unrelenting focus on delivering the best health care possible every day.Whether you're considering your next career move or your first, you should consider Lehigh Valley Health Network.Job DutiesPrepares and dispenses medications for infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.Evaluates evidence-based literature to offer appropriate clinical recommendations in order to optimize drug selection and individualization of therapy.Ensures and executes policies and procedures that ensure appropriate, cost-effective, and safe medication use.Performs clinical medication surveillance, documents interventions, reports adverse drug reactions and medication errors.Coordinates the activities of pharmacy technicians engaged in the preparation, labeling, and delivery of medications and other pharmaceutical supplies.Counsels/Provides drug information pertaining to medications, drug usage, and compatibility to physicians, nurses, other healthcare professionals, and patients in accordance with OBRA or other regulatory standards.Weighs, measures, and prepares sterile and non-sterile medication products utilizing appropriate tools and equipment.Acts as a resource or consultant to other healthcare professionals regarding appropriateness, availability, cost, and/or alternativeness to therapies.Minimum QualificationsDoctorate Pharmacy orBachelor's Degree PharmacyAbility to accurately dispense and monitor medications.Ability to work effectively in a team environment.Ability to make independent judgments under stressful situations at times.Knowledge of laws, regulations, and accreditation standards related to the distribution and control of scheduled and non-scheduled drugs and pharmacy security.RP - Registered Pharmacist - State of Pennsylvania Upon HirePreferred Qualifications2 years relevant pharmacist experience or1 year PGY1 pharmacy residencyFamiliarity with common pharmacy technologies, both software and hardware.BCPS - Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist - Board of Pharmacy Specialties Upon HirePhysical Demands Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.Job Description Disclaimer: This position description provides the major duties/responsibilities, requirements and working conditions for the position.
