Key Personnel is seeking a Temporary Medical Coder in Tulsa, OK

Temporary Medical Coder Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Temporary Medical Coder Pay Range: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Temporary Medical Coder Job Summary

Key Personnel is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Coder to support medical billing and coding for hospital surgeries and professional Interventional Radiology reads. The Medical Coder will review patient charts and provider documentation, ensure accurate and current coding, identify missing or incomplete documentation, and enter charges accurately while following applicable coding guidelines and regulatory requirements.

Temporary Medical Coder Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Receive and review patient charts and medical documentation for accuracy and completeness.

• Ensure all assigned medical codes are current and active.

• Review provider documentation to ensure proper and accurate coding.

• Identify and report missing, incomplete, or insufficient documentation.

• Perform accurate charge entries.

• Apply appropriate coding guidelines and modifiers based on provider documentation.

• Follow federal and state coding requirements and applicable legal and compliance standards.

• Apply appropriate distinctions between Commercial Coding requirements when applicable.

• Maintain accuracy and attention to detail when reviewing medical records and entering charges.

• Support accurate and compliant billing and coding processes for hospital surgeries and professional Interventional Radiology reads.

Temporary Medical Coder Medical Coder Qualifications

• Medical Coding Certificate required.

• CPC certification through AAPC required.

• Minimum of two (2) years of medical coding experience.

• Strong understanding of coding guidelines and compliance requirements.

• Knowledge of appropriate modifier usage.

• Understanding of federal and state coding regulations.

• Ability to identify missing or incomplete provider documentation.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to maintain accuracy while reviewing a high volume of medical documentation.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Temporary Medical Coder Preferred Skills: 

• Experience with medical billing and coding for hospital surgeries and/or Interventional             Radiology reads preferred.

Temporary Medical Coder Work Environment

• This is a temporary, in-office position.

• Remote work is not available for this position.

• Employees are required to report to the office Monday through Friday.

• Business casual dress is required.
