Job Summary Plans coordinates and implements care to the adult patient in the Cardiac Cath Lab, ensuring quality care is provided safely and efficiently in accordance with unit standards. Job Responsibilities Perform on the Cath Lab procedure team as circulator, scrub, or monitor. Ensure patients are correctly prepped for procedures while in holding. Retrieve and provide timely history and physical information. Use critical judgment to assess patients, administer medications, and report abnormalities to physicians promptly. Perform hemostasis safely, with or without vascular devices. Enter and review patient orders and charges for accuracy. Provide independent care of critically ill patients in stressful situations. Educate patients and families, documenting and informing them of tests and treatments. Give clear instructions to patients about perioperative expectations. Escort families to cardiology or Cath Lab areas as needed. Conduct point‑of‑care testing per policies and procedures. Maintain constant alertness and safety. Perform additional duties as assigned. Education & Experience Graduate of an accredited nursing school or equivalent for licensing. No prior experience required. Physical Requirements Continuous verbal communication. Standing and walking for extended periods; frequent lifting/pushing/pulling of 0‑25 lbs. Frequent sitting, reaching, keyboard use, vision and depth perception; color discrimination. Smelling, hearing for alarms and equipment sounds. Occasional lifting of 25‑50 lbs., moving patients, bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, repetitive hand movements. Occasional driving; rare crawling and running. Required Licenses & Certifications State of Missouri Registered Nurse (RN) license. Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association. Advanced Life Support (ALS) – American Heart Association. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – American Heart Association (if required).
