Step into a rewarding educational environment supporting high school students in a cross-categorical special education setting for the 26/27 school year. You’ll be instrumental in providing academic guidance and helping students develop essential self-regulation skills. Embark on a fulfilling contract opportunity with full-time hours, Monday through Friday.
In this role, you’ll work with a manageable caseload of approximately seven students, focusing on mostly academic-based instruction with some attention to mild self-regulation needs. Your expertise and compassion will foster an inclusive atmosphere, empowering students to achieve their potential.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching license for the state (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience teaching in a cross-categorical or multi-needs high school setting
- Strong skills in academic instruction and curriculum adaptation for varying abilities
- Comfort addressing mild behavioral or self-regulation challenges
- Effective communication and collaboration with students, families, and team members
- Commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for all students
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted academic instruction tailored to students’ individual education plans (IEPs)
- Support students in developing self-regulation and adaptive coping skills
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support personnel, and families to deliver comprehensive services
- Track student progress, collect data, and participate in IEP meetings
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and engaging classroom environment
