Purchasing Analyst I

Position Summary This position reviews and analyzes raw material requirements based upon both the weekly planned production schedule, and future forecasted production demands. This role will issue and maintain purchase orders and will work directly with suppliers and transportation parties to ensure on‑time delivery of quality raw materials meeting the scheduled production demands. To be successful, this position continuously collaborates with demand planners, sourcing managers, schedulers and manufacturing as well as tactically manages suppliers to ensure a consistent flow of production throughout the supply chain. Position Responsibilities Utilizes SAP to issue purchase orders to suppliers; buyers should be familiar with the purchasing SOP/method for their assigned site/commodities suppliers. Follows up on past‑due purchase orders and works with suppliers to ensure delivery of material to meet production demands. Expedites material from suppliers if necessary. Uses basic spreadsheets and SAP to analyze raw material usage, days/weeks on hand, and determine root causes of raw material outages and purchase order receiving discrepancies. Maintains rapport and a solid business relationship with assigned vendors. Works with the sourcing team to resolve purchase order pricing issues and address other raw‑material issues. Reduces total cost through optimization of order management, routing of shipments and consolidation of supply while meeting fill‑rate and inventory requirements. Supports payables process in troubleshooting invoice non‑match resolution. Knowledge and Experience Work experience utilizing MRP/DRP/MPS in ERP software packages. Focused and detail‑oriented work style producing comprehensive work. Excellent written and oral communication skills. High competency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook. Demonstrated interpersonal, collaborative skills. 1 to 3 years relevant job experience within a manufacturing environment. SAP working experience preferred. Ability to generate pivot tables and VLOOKUP formulas in Excel. Education and Certification Associate’s Degree in Business or related field, or relevant equivalent experience. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Compensation Range for the Position $46,633.00 - $59,457.00 - $72,281.00 USD Target Cash Profit Sharing for the Position Offer amount determined by experience and review of internal talent.
