Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift hospital position requiring charge RN experience and a GA or compact RN license.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit with remote telemetry and potential medical surgical diagnoses
• 38-bed unit with an average daily census of 33 and a 1:6 patient ratio
• Adolescent to geriatric patient population
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
• Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
• No call requirements
• Uses Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR systems

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience required
• Charge RN experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• 1:6 patient ratio experience required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
• Experience with respiratory care including nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, and oxygen administration
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
• Must perform own vital sign and blood glucose checks
• Two supervisory references (Manager or above) highly preferred at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, emergency response, IV therapy, and respiratory care for med/surg patients
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, must be finalized prior to start
• No RTO can be requested during orientation week
• Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Previous Piedmont staff must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers previously cancelled or deemed unable to return to a Piedmont facility must complete one successful assignment elsewhere before reapplying
• Shift and schedule are firm with no alternate requests permitted
• Travel pairs cannot be assigned to the same shift on the same unit
