Manager, Commodity & Energy Trading - US Oil & Petrochemicals Markets

Job Location Houston, TX Position Summary Our Commodity & Energy Trading practice is looking for experienced Managers to join the team. The Manager will work closely with clients on high‑impact engagements focused on strategy, business capability, risk, data, and technology. Responsibilities Strategy & Commercial Advisory – US market entry, commercial trading & hedging strategy, collaboration models, book structure & transfer pricing Business Capability Development – trading capability assessment & benchmarking, design, operating & organization design, business process, change program planning, IT readiness & training, operational excellence Risk & Regulatory Advisory – risk strategy definition, policy design, capability assessment (market, credit, operational, climate, etc.), compliance assessment (KYC, AML, trade surveillance, etc.) Data & Analytics Advisory – data & analytics strategy, architecture, solution design & delivery Technology Advisory & Transformation – technology strategy, architecture, IT operating model, capability building, program QA & health checks, vendor selection & implementation Required Skills & Experience 6+ years of consulting or industry experience in Commodity & Energy Trading initiatives Strong client delivery and relationship‑building skills Deep knowledge of crude oil, refined products, natural gas liquids, petrochemicals, and freight markets Comprehensive understanding of energy and petrochemicals value chains Experience in capability assessments and target operating model development for trading organizations Experience leading business and IT transformation programs, including change management Advisory support for market entry and trading readiness initiatives Knowledge of risk management frameworks and regulatory compliance Experience in strategy, design, and implementation of advanced analytics platforms Client‑side advisory for modernising trading systems, with familiarity of vendors such as OpenLink and RightAngle Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance at no cost for employee‑only coverage (network across the United States) Company‑paid group term life, short‑term disability, long‑term disability, and travel insurance 401(k) retirement plan: 3% salary contribution and up to 2% match Pre‑tax commuter benefits, Health Savings Account, Flexible Spending Account, and Dep‑care FSA Baringa People Fund: wellbeing activities outside work Paid parental leave: 16 weeks for primary caregivers Learning courses and resources to grow skills and knowledge Annual leave: 5 weeks, plus a two‑week recharge after 5 years Diversity and Inclusion We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
