Staff Accountant, Customer Operations Accounting

Job Summary As a member of the Comcast Global Accounting Organization, this role will be responsible for accounting and analysis related to various Customer Operations GL accounts. Core Responsibilities Interpret accounting data, analyze reports, and recommend actions. Prepare financial reports analyzing data for management review. Ensure balance sheet accounts are accurately stated based on compiled reconciliation procedures and agreement with source documents. Enter monthly journal entries to properly record accounting transactions, ensuring entries have proper backup to substantiate the entry. Review financial statements for operating trends and results. Develop automated Oracle routines such as mass allocations and recurring journal entries. Exercise independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance. Maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s), and overtime as necessary. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Preferences Proficient in Microsoft Excel. Effective communication, organizational, and analytical skills. Team player with strong interpersonal skills. Skills Accounting Accruals Analytical Thinking Balance Sheets General Ledger (GL) Microsoft Excel Variance Analysis Education Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (required). Comcast may consider applicants who hold some combination of coursework and experience, or extensive related professional experience. Certifications Relevant certifications (if applicable).
