Commercial Credit Manager

A growing Michigan-based community bank is seeking a Commercial Credit Manager to join its Commercial Credit team in Southeast Michigan. This organization was built around strong commercial lending fundamentals, relationship-driven banking, and long-term talent development.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and manage a team of Portfolio Managers, Credit Analysts, and interns
• Oversee commercial underwriting and credit analysis processes
• Ensure adherence to credit policy, risk management standards, and regulatory expectations
• Support recruiting, onboarding, and training efforts for analysts and interns
• Partner with leadership to identify and develop future talent across the organization
• Review complex commercial credit relationships and underwriting presentations
• Help maintain strong loan quality and compliance standards
• Collaborate across lending, treasury, and credit functions to support long-term growth

What We're Looking For

• 7–10+ years of progressive commercial banking experience with formal credit training
• Prior experience in Senior Credit Analyst, Portfolio Management, or Credit leadership roles
• Strong commercial underwriting and financial analysis background, particularly within C&I lending
• Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and develop junior credit professionals
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, relationship-oriented banking environment
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
