Position Summary The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing and reporting payroll and completing other related tasks. The individual will be efficient, accurate, and possess the following skills and knowledge. Job Duties / Responsibilities / Essential Functions Process benefits deductions, wage garnishments, 401(k) deductions, and union dues. Use UKG to process payroll in a multisite and multistate environment. Calculate rate changes and retro pay. Answer emails and phone calls regarding payroll‑related questions. Terminate employees in UKG and ensure compliance with state laws. Complete payroll reports as needed. On‑board employees using UKG. Track PTO and accruals using UKG. Work on other projects assigned by the Payroll Manager. Knowledge of Canadian payroll is a plus but not required. Required Knowledge / Skills / Abilities / Qualifications Experience and advanced knowledge of Paycom and UKG are preferred. 3–5 years experience processing multisite and multistate payroll. Team player; able to perform all job functions. Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school graduate or GED required. Environmental / Physical Demands Ability and willingness to sit at a desk for the length of your scheduled shift. Ability and willingness to lift up to 20 lbs. Ability and willingness to type on a computer. Ability to view and read a computer screen for the shift. Ability to speak with vendors and internal employees via telephone or email. Ability to make quick decisions. Ability to handle high‑stress fast‑paced situations. Ability to interpret data accurately.
