ACCOUNTANT IV

Position Summary This position is in the Financial Management Bureau, reporting to the Grants section. It is a full‑time role that works closely with FDLE’s financial information and is responsible for ensuring that grant financial data is accurately transacted and reported. The role requires a strong ability to analyze data and conduct independent research to ensure grant funds are used appropriately. Duties & Responsibilities Review expenditures on assigned grants against the grant budget to determine eligibility. Prepare monthly grant claims. Prepare all necessary reports relating to the grants. Research, calculate, and record all necessary Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR) entries. Reconciling claims filed to the FLAIR expenditures and revenue. Reconciling FLAIR cash. Develop working relationships with program members and resolve issues independently. Coordinate a monthly review of expenditure claims with the grant managers. Ensure compliance with special conditions and limitations of the grant. Ensure proper assignment of grant positions in People First. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication. Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures. Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to an accounting program. Ability to work independently. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Computer software skills, including beginner skills in database and spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel and Word. Ability to research and find errors in reconciliation of expenditures and cash reports. Knowledge of the Florida Accounting Information Resource System (FLAIR). Ability to analyze and interpret accounting data. Base Salary The base salary for this position is $45,290.18.
