Associate Director, Corporate Strategy (San Diego / Hybrid)

Illumina seeks an Associate Director for Corporate Strategy to lead analytical workstreams and strategy engagements that inform the company's long-term direction. The role involves translating strategic questions into analyses and recommendations for senior leadership across R&D, Product, Commercial, Finance, and other functions in a hybrid San Diego environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead major strategy workstreams and bounded engagements with defined sponsors and scope
• Structure strategic problems, develop testable hypotheses, and identify analytical gaps
• Build integrated fact bases combining market, competitive, financial, and internal data
• Develop alternatives and quantify implications for growth, investment, and risk
• Direct cross-functional contributors and create executive-ready communications and presentations

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as an enterprise strategist or strategy consultant
• Strong analytical and problem-structuring capabilities
• Experience synthesizing cross-functional inputs into executive recommendations
• Ability to build and validate complex fact bases from multiple data sources
• Proven project leadership and stakeholder management skills
• Advanced degree preferred; MBA or equivalent strategic planning experience
