Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Summary:
The L&D RN will provide specialized labor and delivery care in a teaching hospital setting, focusing on high-risk antepartum cases during a flu vaccination period. The role requires hands-on patient management, education, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate comprehensive patient care in labor and delivery.
• Monitor fetal and maternal vital signs, identifying and escalating any high-risk concerns.
• Educate patients and families regarding labor processes, postpartum care, and discharge instructions.
• Administer medications, including flu vaccines during flu season, adhering to hospital and safety protocols.
• Document clinical assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately and thoroughly.
• Support high-risk antepartum patients through specialized care and continuous monitoring.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of recent L&D RN experience with high-risk antepartum expertise.
• Valid California RN license in hand at the time of submission.
• Certification in ACLS, BLS, and NRP is required.
• Proven ability to work in a teaching hospital environment with diverse patient populations.
• Experience with flu vaccinations, especially during flu season, is mandatory.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to teach and collaborate effectively.
