Maintenance Mechanic

Position Title: Maintenance Mechanic Wage: $22.00 - $45.00/hour Shift: 12 Hour Days - Weekends Hours: 5:00am - 5:00pm (Friday - Sunday) This hands‑on role in Schofield, WI offers the opportunity to work with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, PLC, and machine drive systems while performing preventative maintenance, equipment repairs, welding, pipefitting, and facility upkeep. Maintenance Mechanic Responsibilities Perform highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to achieve business goals and objectives. Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical systems, advanced pneumatics, advanced hydraulics, electrical, and machine drive systems. Troubleshoot PLC programs. Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production times and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service. Perform welding activities using arc, MIG, TIG welding, plasma cutting, and oxy‑acetylene torch techniques to ensure proper and safe penetration. Perform simple machining duties and responsibilities. Perform building maintenance duties including but not limited to grounds keeping, snow removal, and building upkeep. Prioritize daily work orders/assignments while balancing daily breakdowns. Communicate with lead/manager any problems with timelines, updates, and repair statuses and pass information to other shifts’ mechanics. Install machines properly according to manufacturer’s specifications. Execute pipefitting. Assist in the organization and implementation of the preventative maintenance program. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance services. Operate hand and power tools including, but not limited to air tools, welders, and measuring equipment. Ensure work areas are accessible and safe for employee and customer traffic by maintaining a clean work area at all times. Establish efficient work flow based on product and task. Use parts, materials and other supplies efficiently and notify the correct person when supplies run low. Requirements for Maintenance Mechanic Associate’s Degree in a technical field and/or strong knowledge of industrial maintenance typically acquired through two (2) to three (3) years of experience in a similar position. State‑inducted apprenticeship as a Journeyman Mechanic strongly preferred. Proven knowledge of basic electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
