About This Role:

The Fraud Disputes Analyst is responsible for analyzing card transactions to identify and prevent potential fraudulent activity. This position supports card fraud investigations, provides recommendations to strengthen fraud detection rules and strategies, and serves as the primary point of contact for members throughout the fraud dispute process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process member initiated fraud disputes and claims in accordance with Regulation E, card network rules, and internal policies and procedures.
• Analyze card, ACH and Zelle transaction activity to detect and identify potentially fraudulent or unauthorized activity.
• Support payments fraud investigations by researching account and transaction history, utilizing the Credit Union’s system software, reports, and databases, to determine if activity is consistent with the member’s typical usage patterns.
• Determine whether disputed transactions were authorized or unauthorized based on investigation findings.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for members throughout the fraud dispute and claims process.
• Provide recommendations to support and refine fraud detection rules and strategies based on emerging trends and investigation outcomes.
• Document investigation findings, decisions, and supporting rationale within the case management system.
• Communicate professionally and empathetically with members who have experienced fraud, providing clear updates on dispute status and resolution.
• Collaborate with internal departments, card networks, and processors to gather information needed to resolve disputes.
• Stay current on emerging fraud trends, scams, and typologies affecting card transactions.
• Assume additional fraud risk management related responsibilities and special projects as assigned.

Who You Are:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1 year of related experience in the Financial Services industry.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and with team members across lines of business.
• Familiar with banking laws and regulations, specially around disputes and fraud operations.
• Thorough knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, etc.

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary/hourly range for this position is $26.78 - $33.47 , exclusive of fringe benefits or potential incentives. This position is also eligible for an annual corporate bonus. If you are hired at USALLIANCE Federal Credit Union, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part is any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth. We also offer a generous compensation and benefits package.
